Taifa Leo
Taifa Leo is the only Kiswahili daily newspaper in Kenya. The paper was launched in 1958 as a paper for the ordinary Kenyan in Kiswahili. In January this year, it was relaunched to offer entertainment and up to date news analysis, business news, features and sports, among others. The Swahili, while still sanifu is more ‘relaxed’ to enable an easy read.
It is published daily and retails at Kshs 25.
It delivers to you a young 25-35 reader who is comfortable reading Swahili. He is a hard worker who is careful about how he spends his time and cash to ensure that he gets value and moves ahead in life. He is full of hope and strives to make his life better. He saves for a rainy day and is now investing their savings to secure a better standard of living in future.
Taifa also delivers to you the lady about the town. She runs a small business or is employed with low-mid level earnings. She wants to be in the know on social issues affecting women and what other women are doing to get ahead. She is interested in improving the relations with her spouse and her family. She cares about how she looks and wants to keep up with trends so as not to be outdated.
