Without exception, prior written consent must be sought before
using Nation Media Group material in any form for any purpose.
This includes printing or photocopying copyright material, posting
it on web pages, broadcasting it, or republishing it in other
publications such as newspapers, books or magazines.
If you purchase the material off the Nation Media Group website,
you get permission to use the content following the completion
of the payment.
Unless otherwise directed by us, you must ensure that all reproduced material
is credited, in a prominent position, as is required or indicated thereon. If
you reproduce Nation Media Group material without our licence or permission, you
must pay us immediately 100% of the fee for the licence.
Those who reproduce copyright material without first obtaining
agreement from Nation Media Group risk exposing themselves to

material.
Some areas of the Daily Nation and sister web sites are available only to registered
users, and some articles and stories can only be viewed after making a payment
online. Nation Media Group allows you access to the registration areas of the
website on the basis that your email address is personal to you and may not be
used by anyone else to access the Nation Media Group websites. Further, you will
not do anything that would assist anyone who is not a registered user to gain
access to any registration area of the sites.
If, for any reason, we have cause to believe that you have not complied with these
requirements, we may, at our sole discretion, cancel your access to the registration
areas of the sites immediately and without giving you any advance notice. We shall
also take similar action if, in our view, you have abused the terms on which we
granted you permission to use Nation Media Group material.
For the purposes of this policy, "material" means, including, without
limitation, text, video, graphics and sound material, published on the Nation
Media Group network, whether the copyright of Nation Media Group or a third party.
If you are a registered user, and have not taken out a subscription to use the
premium content from the Nation Media Group network, you may download and print
extracts from the material and make copies of these for your own personal and
non-commercial use. You are not permitted to download or print the material, or
extracts from it, in a systematic or regular manner or otherwise so as to create
a database in electronic or paper form comprising all or part of the material
appearing on the Nation Media Group network.
Except for legitimate editorial reasons, you will not in any way
alter, modify, or treat the material in any manner which is, or may be, damaging
to our interests or use the material in any way that may be deemed defamatory,
or for any party political purposes whatsoever.
To the extent permitted by law, we do not accept any responsibility for any statement
contained in the material. You must not rely on any statement published on the
Nation Media Group network without first seeking specialist professional advice.
For the avoidance of doubt, we shall not be liable for any loss suffered by you
as a result of your doing, or not doing, anything as a result of viewing, reading
or listening to the material or any part of it.
These conditions are governed by Kenyan law.
