The freshly-revamped Nation Media Group Football Club is among teams that have confirmed their participation in next month’s Standard Chartered Trophy.

The tournament’s winners will bag a trip to 18-time English Premier League champions Liverpool’s Anfield ground for a global tournament sponsored by Standard Chartered Bank who are also Liverpool’s shirt sponsors.

The Nairobi tournament, dubbed “Road to Anfield” will involve 36 teams that will compete in a one-day, five-a-side tournament on March 10 at St Mary’s School in Nairobi whose winners earn a four-day, expenses-paid trip.

While in Merseyside, the team will represent Kenya at the worldwide Standard Chartered Trophy finals to be staged at the 54,074-seater Anfield stadium on May 17.

In addition, they will also have the privilege to attend an English Premier League match at the iconic stadium as well as benefit from a professional training session with the “Reds” legends and coaches.
