PEER EDUCATORS PAY VISIT TO CHILDREN’S HOME IN KITENGELA
In an effort to mentor the society and those around them, the NPP Peer Educators took a visit to the Merciful Redeemer children’s home on Saturday June 25. Based in Kitengela, the home is headed by Principal Anne Mugane and caters for close to 100 orphaned children aged between five months and 16 years, with five of the children in boarding schools across the country.

SAVING THE MAU FOREST

In June 2009, the United Nations Environmental Programme reported that Kenya stood to lose over USD 300 million alone in the energy, tea and tourism sectors if the Mau Forest continued to be degraded and destroyed. According to a UN report published in the same year, this destruction has not only contributed to floods and drought in some parts of the country, but has also captured the international headlines through destruction in some countries such as Egypt, Uganda, Tanzania and the entire Eastern African states.
