MOMBASA BUREAU SEEKS TO PROMOTE EDUCATION DURING COMMUNITY WEEK

In solidarity with their bureau colleagues across the country, Nation Media Group employees in the Coast province took on quite a number of activities in view of marking the Community Week dedicated to giving back to the community at large.
Officially commencing on October 11 this year, activities on the agenda included a blood donation drive, health talks and a grueling two day trip to the far-flung Tana River County for a charity mission.

FIGHT AGAINST BREAST CANCER MOVES TO NYERI

Did you know that according to the national registry for cancer, breast cancer takes up to 20 percent of cancer cases in Kenya and one percent of the breast cancer cases involves men? This amongst other statistics was news to many men who attended a free screening exercise recently held at the Nyeri Provincial General Hospital. Most of the men approached to undergo free screening were surprised that the killer disease could even attack men.

NAKURU OFFICE PUTS A SMILE ON DISABLED CHILDREN AS PART OF COMMUNITY WEEK PROJECT

Humbling is what can be used to describe Nation Media Group Nakuru Bureau Office’s visit to G.G. Kinamba Primary School’s Special Unit located in Kinamba, Laikipia County on Saturday October 16. As part of the Community Week, the Nakuru Bureau staff chose to put a smile on a group of physically and mentally handicapped children which can sometimes deny them happiness as they cannot fully participate in ‘normal’ day to day activities.

THREE MAIN PROJECTS FOR KISUMU BUREAU DURING COMMUNITY SERVICE WEEK

At the Nation Media Group Kisumu office, there were three main items on its list of agenda for the hailed Community Service Week, targeted at assisting needy members of the public.
