Nation Media Group’s key focus and signature CSR initiatives revolve around education, a section that is closely linked to one of the facets of the organization-the dissemination of information.

Nation Media Group has therefore concentrated its efforts on the issue of early childhood literacy through an initiative dubbed Tusome. While the introduction of free primary school education has created opportunities for underprivileged children, it has also resulted in a decrease in achievements on educational outcomes.

Tusome-a donor funded initiative spearheaded by USAID and UKAID in partnership with the Ministry of Education-therefore seeks to fill this gap by empowering the country’s future generations by expanding access to reading material and particularly supplementary reading to increase literacy. The Nation Media Group’s role is to ensure high quality printing of these supplementary reading material and generate visibility on the distribution of these books.
