Nation Classic @40: Celebrating Four Decades of Golf Excellence

Nation Media Group hosted more than 150 golfers during the 40th Anniversary edition of the Nation Classic Golf Series at the Karen Country Club held on 28th November 2025.

Thika Sports Club’s Kim Jackson Njeru recorded his maiden victory after waiting for three years.

Njeru, who started playing golf three years ago, clinched the Nation Classic Series @40 overall title after beating home player Ngari Kibiku on countback with an excellent score of 42 points.

“Though I have won small prizes at a number of times Thika Sports Club, this is my first major victory since I started playing golf, and I am very excited winning this historic event away from my home club,’’ said Njeru, a Senior Commercial Manager at Naivas Supermarket. He attributed his current game improvement to regularly practising.

“I have been practising at least every week to try and improve game and handicap. I thank the Nation Media Group for having invited me to be part of the celebrations of the Nation Classic series whose first event was held at the same venue in 1985’’ said Njeru, who fired 21 points in each nine.
